WP Boardwalk theme “add a dark filter to featured images”

Boardwalk is an awesome WordPress theme by Automattic.

It has a “Add a dark filter to featured images” option:

Customize > Theme Options > add a dark filter to featured images

I prefer no dark filter for Web display as it makes the images brighter and the band Boardwalk puts behind the white title text looks great.

But I prefer yes dark filter for Mobile display because otherwise you get a lot of bands with tiny strips of unbanded image above and below the banded background to the white title type.

Feature Request

So, I’d love it if the Add a dark filter to featured images option could become two options, one each for Web and Mobile.
